North West Austin youth Lacrosse Association Coaches


Jeff Mims Bantam K-2 A Head Coach Jeff grew up playing lacrosse on Long Island and comes from a family of lacrosse players. Although he has coached before, Jeff looked to coach this season when his son finally asked him if he could play on a lacrosse team. Jeff views lacrosse as a “life sport” and when he is not involved with his family, he tries to play in pick up lacrosse games around the Austin area. College: 4 time Varsity letter winner and 3 year starter at the Division I level for Bucknell University and Boston College Professional: Detroit Turbos of Major Indoor Lacrosse League (now Rochester Nighthawks of National Lacrosse League) Club Teams: Played for many clubs, in tournaments and leagues, all across North America including indoor box lacrosse in Canada.
Tobin Beal Bantam K-2 B Head Coach Tobin Beal played goalie and defense four years for Trinity University. Continued after college playing for Bud Light in tournament and club play. Tobin Beal has coached several summer leagues and camps.

Will Schumacher Lightning 3-4th A Head Coach Will Schuhmacher, Austin TX, is currently a student at ACC with plans to transfer to UT at the end of this semester. He played lacrosse for Austin High, winning the central district twice and also earning All-District honors twice. Will also played for both the ATX Elite team and also Team Austin. Will also has worked as a summer camp counselor for 3/4th grade kids. Will looks forward to every practice and seeing his his improve throughout the season. He is passionate about lacrosse and is excited to meet everyone and be a part of this team.

Chris Wight Lightning 3-4th B Head Coach Chris began playing lacrosse in 5th grade upon the arrival of youth lacrosse to central Texas. He played for 4 years at Anderson High School, and played at UTSA during Spring of 2011. He was an assistant coach for the 2008 NWAYLA 5/6th grade team. He currently is a full time student at The University of Texas, living near campus with his dog, Yogi.
